Tennessee Disability Pathfinder offers a growing library of disability resources available at TNPathfinder.org. In addition to the growing directory of resources on Pathfinder’s website, here are some we’re highlighting this month.
MDHA Opening Multiple Waiting Lists –
A Rare Opportunity

Affordable housing waiting lists in Nashville open rarely, and when they do, spots fill fast. The Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) has announced a limited‑time opening for three separate properties, each with its own application window and its own online waiting list.
This is an important chance for individuals and families in the disability community to apply for safe, stable, and affordable housing options.
Applicants may apply for one, two, or all three properties, but each requires a separate online application.

Free Smoke Alarms and CO Detectors Now Available
The State Fire Marshal’s Office has expanded the Get Alarmed, Tennessee! program to include FREE carbon monoxide (CO) detectors beginning in 2026. This update follows Winter Storm Fern, when many households turned to generators and alternative heating sources—leading to dangerous CO exposure across the state.
The SFMO now has a new supply of smoke alarms and CO detectors available for fire departments to install in homes. Officials encourage Tennesseans to check their current alarms and request replacements if needed to help prevent future emergencies.
