As we look ahead in 2022, Pathfinder is excited to announce an informative new webinar series, A Guided Journey to Resources. Since webinars are one of the many ways Pathfinder connects Tennesseans to disability-related resources, we strive to make them relevant to the needs and interests of individuals we serve.
For this new series, Vanderbilt University’s Tennessee Disability Services Study served as a valuable reference when planning the subjects of the webinars. The research team surveyed more than 3,000 Tennesseans with disabilities, family members, educators, providers, agency staff, and healthcare workers to determine what experiences are important and who can help them. Based on the findings, each webinar will address a specific topic of interest and need for information identified through the study.
It’s no surprise that people with disabilities and those who support them want the same experiences that any person might want—a good job, physical and mental health, engagement in the community, and more—but they don’t always know what resources are available to support them in achieving the experiences.
Pathfinder’s webinars will feature presenters from statewide agencies that provide services relevant to these desired experiences:
January 20th: Employment – Vocational Rehabilitation Services [Click here to register]
February 24th: Employment – Benefits to Work Program, Tennessee Disability Coalition
March 24th: Mental Health – Tennessee Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services
April 28th: Respite Services Panel
Each session will be held via Zoom from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CT and will be relevant to all types of participants—professionals, family members, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities. Presenters will provide in-depth details about the services their agencies provide and answer questions from participants, so join us for these engaging learning opportunities.
