SNAP Income Limits Have Changed
In between jobs? Every year, USDA updates income limits, benefit amounts, and deductions to reflect inflation and cost-of-living changes. These updates, called Cost-of-Living Adjustments (COLA), are effective October 1, 2025, for fiscal year 2026.
Highlights include:
- Maximum allotments increased for most states. For example, a family of four in the 48 contiguous states and D.C. will now receive up to $994.
- Minimum benefit for the 48 states and D.C. rises to $24.
- Shelter cap increases to $744, and the homeless shelter deduction rises to $198.99.
- Standard deduction for households of 1–3 people increases to $209.
- Asset limits remain the same: $3,000 for most households and $4,500 for households with someone age 60+ or with a disability.
If you or someone you assist were previously denied SNAP for being over income, you may now qualify. It’s worth applying again!

Homeplace Legacy Fund: Supporting Pathways to Empowerment
The Homeplace Legacy Fund Small Grant Program is now accepting applications to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families in Davidson County, Tennessee!
This grant program helps fund the “extras” that can make a big difference, like training, education, equipment, and experiences that build skills and confidence. These opportunities can be stepping stones toward greater independence and employment success.
Grants range from $500 to $1,500, and only one grant is awarded per individual or family each year. Applications are open now and must be submitted by December 31, 2025. Awards will be announced in early 2026.
Created in honor of four women who lived at Homeplace for over three decades, this fund continues their legacy of community, care, and empowerment.
