TennCare Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Benefit
Need a ride to your medical appointment? TennCare offers a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) benefit for members without access to transportation. Rides are available for any TennCare-covered service and must be scheduled at least two business days in advance. Urgent appointments can be accommodated with provider verification.
Transportation options are tailored to your mobility needs, and you may also explore Mileage Reimbursement if a friend or family member can drive you.

Exciting News: Homeplace Legacy Fund Small Grants
We’re thrilled to share a glimpse of a special opportunity coming your way! The Homeplace Legacy Fund is dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families, helping to meet unique needs and create meaningful opportunities.
Whether it’s funding for programs, equipment, training, or experiences that enhance quality of life, this grant program is here to make a difference. Grants will range from $500 to $1,500 and are open to residents of Davidson County, Tennessee.

EMPOWER VI, a project dedicated to supporting transition-aged youth with visual impairments in Tennessee’s rural communities, has unveiled several new resources to enhance accessibility and engagement for families and professionals alike. Here’s what’s on the move:
🔹 New Platform for Free Online Courses
EMPOWER VI’s online courses have transitioned to a new platform designed to improve the learning experience. This updated platform features a fully accessible format, no login requirements, and user-friendly navigation. Participants can continue to rely on the same high-quality content and earn certificates for professional development by completing the course surveys.
🔹 A New Course: The Dignity of Risk
The latest addition to EMPOWER VI’s course lineup, The Dignity of Risk, highlights the importance of fostering independence and personal growth through risk-taking. This course features perspectives from individuals who are blind or have low vision, as well as insights and advice from parents. It provides families with practical tools to support their child’s growth and confidence.
🔹 New YouTube Channel
EMPOWER VI has launched its official YouTube channel, creating a centralized hub for video resources. Playlists include Dignity of Risk Videos, Accessibility Tips for Microsoft Word, and more. These videos are designed to complement the project’s online courses, offering additional ways to engage with their valuable content.
