April 2nd is World Autism Awareness Day! This day, unanimously declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2007, is to highlight the need to help improve the quality of life of those with autism so they can lead full and meaningful lives as an integral part of society. This year’s theme for this special day is “Inclusive Education.”

To celebrate their Creativity Empowers art exhibit (with works by local artists with special needs and challenges), Nashville Symphony Duo will perform sensory-friendly pieces designed to create a welcoming and comfortable arts experience for those with autism and sensory needs. The performance is April 2nd at 10:30 AM CT and is open to all families.
The event will be held in the Children’s Theater on the 2nd floor of the Main Library, 615 Church St, Nashville, TN 37219.

13-year old author, advocate, and radio host, Rainbow Mosho, is having a special reading of her newly published book “Adventures at the Zoo.” Rainbow, who is on the Spectrum, tells her story of experience at a zoo camp in the summer of 2021 in this her 4th book.
The event is on April 23rd at Hendersonville Public Library of Sumner County.
