Dear Friends of Pathfinder,

Home for the Holidays can mean something different for each family. Whether it means staying at home and celebrating with your family, visiting friends and family, or starting a new tradition. The holidays can be a busy and sometimes stressful time of year. It is important that we remember to take a moment for our self-care. What is self-care? Self-care is taking action to preserve or improve your health. We need to find the activity that provides us balance in our lives. This can be reading a good book, nature walks, watching a good movie, pedicure, or whatever provides you a sense of relaxation.

The most important thing is to find what works for you. When you are in the role of caregiver, you will come to realize that many times you are the foundation. Keeping a strong and healthy foundation will provide positive energy for the people around you. It is also important to ask for support when you feel that you need it. When building your community, be sure to surround yourself with supportive people. You will find that holidays will become less stressful over time.

Tennessee Disability Pathfinder is available to provide support about resources that are available across the state. If you would like to speak with one of our Information and Referral Specialists, we would be happy to assist. Please let us know how we can be of help to you and your family.

Happy Holidays!!

Best Wishes,

Linda Brown
Information and Referral Coordinator
