We See You, Memphis Advancing Disability Belonging on Purple Day

Story by Bre’Asia Bradley, Founder & CEO of B.E.A.T.S

On March 26, 2026, B.E.A.T.S (Bringing Epilepsy Awareness To Society) will host We See You, Memphis, a Purple Day community event focused on disability awareness, connection, and visibility, especially for individuals living with epilepsy and other hidden disabilities. Presented by B.E.A.T.S and co-sponsored by Tennessee Disability Pathfinder and the Tennessee Disability Coalition, the gathering aims to bring together individuals with disabilities, families, advocates, and service providers to share resources, strengthen understanding, and build community support. This event reflects the heart of B.E.A.T.S’s mission: advocacy rooted in passion, visibility, and community care.

Purple Day is recognized internationally to raise awareness about epilepsy, a neurological condition that affects millions of people worldwide. We See You, Memphis extends that mission by highlighting the experiences of people whose disabilities may not be immediately visible or well understood. The event emphasizes the power of acknowledgement, education, and shared stories, key tools of effective advocacy, and support.

“Too often, people with epilepsy and other hidden disabilities are expected to navigate life quietly,” said Bre’Asia Bradley, founder of B.E.A.T.S. “We See You, Memphis is our way of saying that you are seen, you matter, and you deserve a community that understands and supports you.”

B.E.A.T.S was created to help build a world where individuals with epilepsy are supported by a knowledgeable and compassionate community. Through education, advocacy, and storytelling, the organization works to amplify voices and reduce stigma surrounding seizures and neurological conditions. Its partnerships with Tennessee Disability Pathfinder and the Tennessee Disability Coalition expand this work, connecting local efforts in Memphis to a statewide network of disability advocacy and resources.

The event will take place on March 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the University of Memphis, University Center. Registration is not required, but reserving your spot helps organizers plan for the best experience – reserve your spot today!

Community organizations, service providers, and advocates are encouraged to participate and help make this inaugural gathering a meaningful experience for all who attend. We See You, Memphis is more than an event, it’s a message. A reminder that visibility strengthens communities, shared understanding builds resilience, and no one should ever feel unseen.
