Senior Ride Nashville (SRN) has been providing affordable and reliable transportation to older adults in the Nashville community since 2017. Transportation is one of the greatest unmet needs for seniors in the area and SRN was created to address this problem. We know that lack of transportation leads to detrimental impacts on older adults’ health and well-being from missed healthcare appointments, inconsistent medication management, poor nutrition, and social isolation. Our program was designed to pair an older adult in need of transportation with a driver who can take them anywhere they need to go in Davidson County, including medical appointments, grocery stores, and social engagements.

SRN riders are age 60+ living in our service area, which currently includes West Nashville, North Nashville, East Nashville, Madison, Donelson, Hermitage, and Old Hickory. Our riders are assessed to make sure that they can safely use our program. Our riders use our program for simple curb-to-curb service, allowing us to pick them up from their home or another location and drop them off at their requested destination. Some of our riders request more assistance with their ride, needing their driver to help them shop at the store or walk them into their medical appointment. We are happy to provide our riders with the level of assistance that they need. We invite you to learn more about becoming an SRN rider on our website or by contacting our office directly at 615-610-4040.

SRN has provided more than 36,000 trips for our riders since we began our service. We have an incredible team of volunteer drivers who provide hundreds of rides each month. We also have paid contract drivers who deliver wonderful care for our riders. All our
drivers are screened and trained to make sure that they can provide the level of support that our riders need. Volunteer drivers have the flexibility to choose the rides that work best for their schedule. We would love to have you join us by becoming a volunteer driver and providing invaluable service and connection for our riders.

Our community of donors and supporters is also vital to our work in Nashville. We provide an affordable service for our riders made possible by community donations, grant funding, foundation support, and corporate sponsorships. Our riders pay a $25 annual membership, which can be waived due to financial hardship, and $6 for a roundtrip ride that can last up to 3 hours and include 2 destinations. We know that our riders need their transportation costs to remain low so that they can continue to access health services, food, and social connections. The support we receive allows us to keep that cost affordable. We welcome you to join our growing network of donors and supporters who are creating a more connected community for older adults in Davidson County.
