Tennessee Assistive Technology Project: Enhancing Student Access to Learning
The Assistive Technology Project (ATP) provides training, consultation, and coaching to families, educators, schools, and districts across Tennessee, ensuring students with disabilities ages 3-22 have access to the assistive technology (AT) they need to succeed. The project focuses on improving AT services in schools, increasing student independence, and enhancing learning opportunities.
Services for Students, Families & Schools:
- Guidance on AT considerations within the IEP process
- Free helpline consultations for AT service delivery
- Regional, statewide, and on-demand professional development
- Individualized coaching and consultation
- Online courses and professional learning communities
- Resource materials, tip sheets, and adaptive learning tools
- Access to AT lending libraries for device trials
About ATP & the Team
The Little Tennessee Valley Educational Cooperative manages the ATP, providing school-based AT services since 1999. The team includes certified specialists such as occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, special education experts, and assistive technology professionals with extensive experience supporting AT needs in schools.
AT Equipment Lending Library
A statewide lending library is available, allowing schools to borrow AT devices at no cost, with only return shipping required. Available items include:
