Through visual arts and creative writing classes at peer centers across Middle Tennessee, HAPI empowers individuals in recovery to express themselves, develop coping skills, and build self-confidence. The organization supports underserved, low-income participants by showcasing their work in public exhibits and printed materials, fostering awareness and acceptance within the community. HAPI’s outreach efforts, including community events and educational publications, promote dialogue and understanding around mental health and recovery.
Building Bridges: Expanding Connections for Individuals with Disabilities
The Community Development Center is gearing up for the next set of Building Bridges events in Bedford, Coffee, Marshall, and Lincoln Counties. This initiative is designed to support young adults with disabilities, ages 16 and older, who may not yet be connected to services or are receiving only limited support.
Building Bridges offers social events, community inclusion activities, and family/caregiver training to help individuals build meaningful connections and access the resources they need. By fostering engagement before high school graduation, the program aims to create lasting opportunities that extend into adulthood.
