Employment Opportunities
Mentorship Opportunities
Opportunity 1: Become a Peer Mentor – Empower Others Through Your Experience
A new peer mentoring initiative is launching in Tennessee, California, Kansas, and Virginia to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in their employment journey. Unlike traditional mentorship programs, this initiative trains employed adults with IDD to become mentors for unemployed adults with IDD who are seeking job opportunities.
By sharing personal success stories, offering guidance, and answering questions, mentors play a vital role in helping job seekers navigate the path to paid employment. This program not only fosters meaningful connections but also empowers both mentors and job seekers with valuable skills and confidence.
Mentors will receive a $200 Amazon gift card for their participation. If you are an employed adult with IDD and want to make a difference in someone’s career journey, this is an opportunity to share your knowledge and inspire others.

Opportunity 2: Gain Valuable Career Guidance from a Peer Mentor
Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are seeking employment now have the chance to receive mentorship from peers who have successfully navigated the job market. A new peer mentoring initiative is launching in Tennessee, California, Kansas, and Virginia, providing unemployed adults with IDD the opportunity to connect with mentors who understand their journey firsthand.
Unlike traditional mentorship programs, this initiative pairs job seekers with employed adults with IDD who can share real-world advice, answer questions, and offer encouragement based on their own experiences. Participants will gain insight, confidence, and strategies for finding meaningful employment.
Each job seeker who participates will receive a $200 Amazon gift card. If you are looking for guidance from someone who has been in your shoes and successfully found a job, this is an opportunity to receive support from a mentor who understands your experience.
