
These are just a few resources related to reading and disabilities that we wanted to highlight:
- Vanderbilt Kennedy CenterReading Clinic: A clinic providing one-on-one instruction for struggling readers. We offer instructional reading services for K-8 students of all abilities, who need additional supports, strategies, and targeted reading practices.
- The Junior League Family Resource Center offers a Family Health Library stocked with information about medical conditions and disabilities. The center is free of charge and available in person or by phone, email, or fax.
- TN Library for Accessible Books and Media is a free library program of over 150,000 recorded, large print, and braille materials available to residents of Tennessee who are not able to use standard print materials due to a visual or physical disability.
- Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that gifts free books to children from birth to age five in the United States and four other countries around the world. She started the library in her Tennessee home county in 1995 and now gifts over 1 million books to children each month.
