Dear Compass Readers,
Welcome to this edition of The Compass! As we embark on a new season, we are excited to embrace our theme: For the Love of Advocacy. Advocacy is more than just a word—it is the heart of everything we do at Tennessee Disability Pathfinder (Pathfinder). It is a commitment to ensuring that individuals and families have access to the resources they need to thrive.
At Pathfinder, we understand that navigating available services can be overwhelming. Whether you are an individual, a family member, an educator, or a professional, finding the right support can often feel like an uphill battle. That is why we are here—to walk alongside you, to listen, and to connect you with the services that best meet your needs. Through Information and Referrals, our dedicated team helps individuals find the appropriate community resources by offering one-on-one assistance, a robust online resource directory, and an up-to-date community calendar. With years of experience, our team is committed to ensuring that no one has to navigate this journey alone.
Beyond connecting people to services, we believe in the power of education. Our Education and Training programs provide valuable insights on topics such as effective communication, professional engagement, and accessing community resources. Knowledge is a powerful tool, and through these initiatives, we aim to equip individuals, families, and professionals with the information they need to make informed decisions.
We also recognize that language and service barriers can make utilizing programs even more challenging. Our Support Services team is dedicated to bridging these gaps by offering case management assistance and specialized training presentations that focus on reaching various communities. By addressing these unique challenges, we ensure that guidance is available to all who need it.
Advocacy is not just about speaking up—it is about listening, learning, and taking action. It is about creating stronger communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. As you read through this edition of The Compass, we encourage you to reflect on what advocacy means to you and how we can all contribute to a more connected and supportive world.
Thank you for your continued support and for being part of this journey with us. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please reach out to us at 1-800-640-4636 or explore our resources online. Together, let’s continue to advocate, connect, and make a difference.
With gratitude,
